A review of Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Rose Petal 15...

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush is a sheer blush with build-able coverage and a unique texture. It goes on sheer and has a smooth natural appearance. I tried shade Rose Petal 15, a lovely light shade of pink with peachy tones. I have to say this is one of my favorite blushes.  The build-ability is fabulous and makes this product versatile;  I can apply just a little for a subtle flush or build it up for a more dramatic look.

From the www.maybelline.com website:

• Revolutionary gel formula provides a new bouncy texture.
• Lightweight like a powder, yet melts seamlessly into skin like a cream
• Natural sheer wash of color that is buildable for greater color intensity
• Dermatologist tested, Allergy tested
• Non comedogenic

For Best Results:
With your fingertips, blend a small amount of blush onto the apples of your cheeks, applying from your cheekbones to your temples. To build color intensity, apply more blush.

Will I re-buy?

Absolutely! This is a fun product with beautiful coverage and payoff.  I am excited about this blush and am looking forward  to trying more shades. I love peachy tones and plan on buying shade Peach Stain 20 next.

Lean Cuisine Delicious Rewards- is it worth it?

I have been a member of the Lean Cuisine Delicious Rewards program for several months. Today I finally redeemed my points, for a free gift, for the first time. The gift I chose is this lovely "modern style" oil dispenser.
It cost me 500 points and according to the website should arrive in about 12 weeks, roughly 3 months, at which time I will update you as to the quality of the product.

So, 500 points, at 20 points per Lean Cuisine meal, that's 25 meals consumed to earn the points for this item. Not bad. Their dishes are tasty and range from pizza to pasta; from basic to bistro. AND they have several vegetarian dishes, which I love, because I try to keep my consumption of animal proteins to minimum.

So, is it worth it?
So far, I say yes. I enjoy eating the meals, and the Rewards Program is fun and easy to use. It all hangs on the quality of the product when it arrives. I will be sure to update!

A review of COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation

I typically only wear natural and organic makeup whenever possible, but this can be a bit pricy, and sometimes I find myself in need of a little more coverage and wear-time, which you can get with some natural and organic brands, but not like that of conventional chemical based brands. So I decided to go out and buy myself some good old COVERGIRL.
COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Silk Foundation is available in 14 shades and can be found almost everywhere makeup is sold as well as online at www.covergirl.com. This foundation has a soft creamy texture and blends nicely into my skin. I experienced a medium coverage that left a soft finish. I didn't feel the need for a finishing powder with this product.

I have mostly dry skin, especially around my forehead and bridge of my nose, and these areas can get flaky at times. This foundation did not cake up on my dry flaky spots as much as some other brands/formulas.

I had some difficulty with shades selection in the store and had to exchange the original shade purchased, Bamboo 315, for the lighter shade, Flax 310. The lighting in some stores makes it nearly impossible to get a good read on the shades. But, I found this little chart on the  COVERGIRL website that I think is pretty useful.

Will I re-buy?

Yes. I like that the product comes in a recyclable plastic tube and it feels soft on my skin. It's affordable and offers sufficient wear-time and coverage.

A Review of Earth Henna...

During my last visit to Twirl, the BEST toy store on the planet, I discovered a very cool little kit for self henna art. The Mini Henna Body Painting Kit by Earth Henna comes with everything you need to create your own henna art on yourself or any willing participant.
Each mini kit comes with:
Paint the Body Beautiful with Earth Henna
  • Reusable stencil transfers
  • Pre-measured natural henna powder directly from the fields of Morocco
  • Pre-measured mixing solution for making henna paste
  • Plastic squeeze bottle applicator with fine tip (used by professional henna artists!)
  • Four grams of eucalyptus oil
  • Q-tips and toothpicks (a henna artist's must-have tools!)
  • Cotton bag for storage of unused supplies
  • Clear, step-by-step instructions on how to mix and apply your Mehndi designs
  • Invaluable tips and techniques from professional Mehndi artists
Here is what I ended up with (see below). Not bad for someone who had never even been in the same room as henna before. The applicator tip is very fine and clogged up once or twice, but a gentile squeeze onto a paper towel took care of that right away. Application really easy and the flow was nice and consistent. I felt like a pro applying it.

After the henna dried I left it on for a few hours, as per the instructions, before removing it. Most of the henna peeled right off, but there were some suborn chunks, as well as  stencil, that had to be rubbed away with vegetable oil. I did notice that the areas where I used stencil stained a lighter shade than the areas where I free handed it, but it looks pretty cool like that.
